It Takes A Village 207
About Us
It Takes a Village 207 was founded in 2020 by mother and daughter team, Journey and Becky.
In 2020, It Takes a Village 207 joined forces with Maine Homeless Veterans Alliance. Journey was already a long time Board Member for Maine Homeless Veterans Alliance and It Takes a Village 207 was providing assistance to many Veterans on behalf of Maine Homeless Veterans Alliance and joining forces increased the impact both organizations could make. Becky became an official board member to MHVA in January of 2023.
Journey & Becky started It Takes a Village 207 because they themselves have been in the shoes of many struggling Mainers.
They are familiar with the enormous difficulties of poverty, homelessness, domestic violence, food insecurity, and they have experienced the helpless and isolated feeling that these situation cause. They know the struggles of not knowing how to make ends meet.
The goal of It Takes a Village 207 is to be the village that helps struggling families get on their feet, while making them feel loved and understood.

In Need of Sponsors
It Takes a Village 207 in Maine neighbors helping Maine neighbors face life’s challenges and annual Sponsorships are essential in covering some of our basic operating expenses or costs of doing business, such as electricity, equipment, storage container rental, professionally printed materials, printer supplies, gas to get to and from events and make pickups, event expenses and all the behind-the-scenes things it takes to keep It Takes a Village 207 operating. Until now we have managed operating expenses as they arise through donation appeals and any fund we already had but as our program grows so do the expenses. This is our first year for Sponsorships and we are excited to partner with many in the community.
